Nuclear scientists used a new theoretical approach to calculate a value essential for unraveling the three-dimensional motion of quarks within a proton. The researchers obtained a significantly more accurate picture of these internal building blocks’ transverse motion. The work will aid in calculations of 3D motion of quarks and gluons in future collider experiments.

In a paper published in SCIENCE CHINA Chemistry, a series of thermodynamically stable 2D cluster-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) Fe_n-(pyz) (n = 1~6) with room-temperature ferrimagnetism has been proposed based on first principles calculations. The strong d–p spin exchange interactions between the clusters and pyrazine ligands lead to robust ferrimagnetic ordering. Interestingly, altering the size of Fe_n clusters in Fe_n-(pyz) (n = 1~6) MOFs results in diverse functional spintronic properties, including bipolar magnetic semiconductors (BMS), half semiconductors (HSC) and Dirac half metals (HM).

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) can present as a chronic phenotype or acute course. However, there is a lack of research on the underlying mechanisms of chronic DILI as well as the definition of cut-off point. We aimed to profile holistic metabolic characteristics of chronic DILI and provide evidence for the cut-off point by serum metabolomics.
