A research paper recently published in Science China Life Sciences describes a genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 knockout screen performed in bovine cells, aimed at identifying host factors involved in Bovine Parainfluenza Virus Type 3 (BPIV3) infection. Through this screen, researchers identified several key host factors essential for BPIV3 infection, including the sialic acid transporter SLC35A1 and the Sm-like protein LSM12.
