New booster motor design supports safer brake-by-wire systems for intelligent electric vehicles
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdBrake-by-wire systems are becoming a core technology for intelligent electric vehicles, but their performance depends heavily on a compact, reliable and responsive booster motor. A study in Green Energy and Intelligent Transportation presents a structured design method for the booster motor used in brake-by-wire systems, combining motor selection, electrical and mechanical design, simulation optimization and prototype verification.

Traffic-aware energy management helps fuel cell buses cut costs near bus stops
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdFuel cell buses are a promising route toward cleaner public transport, but their real-world efficiency depends on more than the vehicle powertrain alone. A study in Green Energy and Intelligent Transportation presents a hierarchical predictive energy management strategy that uses traffic information around bus stops to guide how fuel cell buses plan battery state of charge and allocate power as they approach stopping events.

Simple lead-based catalyst strategy boosts efficiency of iron-chromium flow batteries
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdResearchers have developed a simple lead-based catalyst strategy that significantly improves the performance of iron-chromium redox flow batteries, a class of long-duration energy storage systems widely seen as promising for large-scale grid applications. By introducing lead chloride into the electrolyte and enabling a catalyst to form directly on the electrode surface during operation, the team was able to improve chromium reaction kinetics, suppress hydrogen evolution, and achieve markedly higher energy efficiency under demanding operating conditions.

Tiny AI model could strengthen real-time fault diagnosis for high-speed train bogies
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdResearchers have developed a lightweight fault-diagnosis framework for high-speed train bogies that is designed for edge deployment while still maintaining strong cross-domain diagnostic performance. The study addresses a persistent challenge in railway intelligence: how to run deep learning models close to the train or infrastructure, where computing resources are limited, without losing accuracy when operating conditions change.
