Made in the shade: lessons from a conventional solar site in California’s Central Valley
UC Davis Wild Energy CenterA new peer-reviewed article from UC Davis is the first ecological profile of the dynamic microclimates created by sun-tracking PV panels on a conventional solar project. The study, conducted in California's Central Valley, found that shade from solar panels has a cooling effect on the ground below during the daytime, which could have widespread implications as temperatures rise due to climate change.

The first ever science-based multisensory technological climbing wall in the world for children with multiple and/or complex disabilities
Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia - IITThe collaboration between the research teams from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Italian Institute of Technology- IIT) and the clinicians at the Istituto Giannina Gaslini led to the realization of the first ever science-based multisensory technological climbing wall in the world for the clinical rehabilitation of paediatric patients with multiple and/or complex disabilities. The new platform named “Multisensory Integration CLIMB” has been officially presented on Friday, February 7th 2025, and over the next few weeks, it will become fully operational for patients at the Multi-speciality Department for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the IRCCS Giannina Gaslini Hospital in Genoa, Italy.
