The 48th Annual UNC Lineberger Scientific Symposium, is a day-and-a-half meeting exploring advances across the cancer research continuum—from molecular discovery to clinical application to population impact—that are improving cancer outcomes. The meeting features 16 talks by leaders in cancer research that bridge basic, translational and population sciences.

The Europlanet Science Congress 2025 will be held jointly with the annual meeting of the American Astronomical Society’s Division of Planetary Science (EPSC-DPS2025) from 7–12 September 2025 at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki, Finland. EPSC-DPS2025 covers the full spectrum of planetary research and technology across 74 scientific sessions, with topics including the latest results on Solar System, exoplanetary and interstellar bodies, current and upcoming missions, ground-based observations, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in planetary science, planetary defence, and the emergence of life in our Solar System and beyond. Around 1900 oral and poster presentations have been submitted and almost 2000 planetary scientists from Europe and around the world are expected to attend the conference.

Statement from the Scientists’ Coalition ahead of INC-5.2 to develop a global plastics treaty

Over 350 researchers from more than 30 countries gathered in Tampere, Finland, for the first eLTER Science Conference (23–27 June 2025), organised by the European Long-Term Ecosystem Research Infrastructure (eLTER RI). Under the theme “Towards a Whole-System Approach for Ecosystem Science,” the conference launched the WAILS concept to unify in-situ environmental observation across disciplines. With an interdisciplinary programme, hands-on field visits, and a focus on sustainability, the event marked a key step toward more integrated responses to climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation.

The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) invites the public to a free webinar, “Improving Psychotherapy for Mood Disorders” on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm ET. In this webinar, Marc J. Weintraub, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, will explore recent scientific advances to improve the efficacy of psychosocial treatments for mood and psychotic disorders. The session will be hosted by Jeffrey Borenstein, M.D., President & CEO of the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation and host of the Emmy® nominated television series Healthy Minds.

The school will integrate multiple forms of knowledge in order to advance towards the systemic changes required for the construction of more equitable and resilient societies. Applicants may submit until August 15.
