The Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) and the Pasteur Network brought together more than 200 specialists in infectious diseases, public health, and biomedical research from 25 countries in Laval, Québec, from November 3 to 5, 2026, for the Pasteur Network Annual Meeting (PNAM).  

Held in North America for the first time, the international gathering provided a unique forum for scientific leaders, researchers, and public health experts to explore how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can strengthen pandemic preparedness and response. Over three days, participants exchanged knowledge, shared best practices, and reinforced collaborations to address current and future global health challenges.

The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and Keystone Symposia announce a joint meeting, titled Tumor and Host Metabolism: Integrating, Molecular Cellular and Systemic Interactions, to be hosted by the Ludwig Institute’s Branch at Princeton University on March 7-10, 2027.

An analysis presented at FAPESP Week Netherlands indicates that processing the metal in Ceará state would reduce carbon emissions by 25%, lower operating costs for European consumer industries, and create jobs in Northeast Brazil.

The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is hosting a free webinar on November 10, 2026, at 2pm ET, “Predicting Suicidal Ideation Outcomes: How Personality, Cognition, and Brain Function Shape Treatment Response.” This talk will highlight new findings from studies examining how personality disorder assessments, measures of cognitive functioning, and neuroimaging can characterize and predict suicidal ideation outcomes in high-risk psychiatric populations, including individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). The guest speaker, Jenna Traynor, Ph.D., is the director of Dimensional Exploration of Self, Emotion, Risk and Treatment (DESERT) Lab, Clinician-Scientist and Staff Psychologist at McLean Hospital and an instructor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. She is also a recipient of a 2022 Young Investigator grant. The moderator, Jeffrey Borenstein, M.D., is President & CEO of the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation and host of the Emmy® nominated television series Healthy Minds.
