ForestPaths' second Policy Lab, held in Varese, Italy (23-25 September 2024), gathered 18 diverse stakeholders to discuss forest-based policymaking and modelling aimed at addressing climate change and biodiversity goals by 2050. Participants explored medium- and long-term visions for forests, focusing on ecosystem services, forest resilience, economic viability and social-educational aspects of sustainable forestry. These discussions will inform future modelling and policy pathway development, leading to policy recommendations in the third and fourth Policy Labs scheduled for 2025 and 2026.
