A joint research team from Saitama University and the University of the Ryukyus has developed an energy management framework for recirculating aquaculture systems that coordinates renewable energy, battery storage, and aerator operation while maintaining dissolved oxygen levels needed to keep fish safe. By combining experimental data from Malabar grouper with model predictive control, the framework reduced annual electricity use by 17.8% and CO₂ emissions by 31.9% in simulations, while also helping maintain dissolved oxygen levels during power outages.
- A research team led by Professor Yong Man Ro from the School of Electrical Engineering addressed AI hallucinations caused by sensory misinterpretation.
- Successfully suppressed cross-modal hallucination, in which the AI fabricates sounds that do not actually exist based on visual cues.
- The technology can be applied without additional model training, paving the way for next-generation autonomous vehicles, robots, drones, and security screening systems.
Two new studies explain why certain nitrogenases are the most efficient at converting nitrogen gas into ammonia. The findings could help guide the engineering of enzymes or catalysts that can convert nitrogen gas to ammonia.
