The study focused on how stigma, social background and emotional factors impact white-collar offenders as they transition into society after prison and how modern technology, including social media, intensifies the stigma of imprisonment. While white-collar offenders typically face less difficulty securing employment and housing, due to stronger social networks and resources, they experience heightened anxiety about social stigma, particularly through online exposure. Their middle-class status increases vulnerability to public shaming, leading many to seek mental health support to cope with these challenges.

More and more young women are hesitant about having children in Sweden. New research from Uppsala University shows that one in four are either unsure about or do not want to have children at all – a big increase compared to 2014, when only one in ten felt this way. The same study also shows that fewer are using condoms and that a large proportion perceived consent when sexual activity was initiated.

Researchers from the BIRTE research group looked at how different fiscal policies contributed to reducing the carbon emissions, water use and food waste generated by food consumption. They concluded that a generalized increase in taxes on all products is not as effective as differential taxing or subsidising of each food category. They also stated the importance of designing different policies according to the objectives to be achieved.
