Ten medical students from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine were recognized recently by the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) at its 17th Annual Research Poster Symposium, which was held in conjunction with its signature education event, Future Health: Best Practices for Advancing Care.
This year, symposium participants competed in four different categories: clinical research, basic research, clinical vignettes, and health policy/medical education. Eight posters were accepted in these categories out of a field of more than 120 abstract entries. Three winners were selected in each category, and several honorable mentions were awarded.
Korea University's College of Medicine (Dean Pyun Sung-bom) has been simultaneously selected for the undergraduate and graduate programs of the '2026 Convergence Physician-Scientist Training Project' organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
Language education plays a key role in helping foreign residents settle into society. However, Japan heavily relies on volunteers for it. New research conducted at Doshisha University investigates how volunteer-led Japanese classes function within national policies and local realities. Using policy analysis and on-field research, the study reveals that this reliance results in a “semi-professional” teaching environment that not only influences learning outcomes but may also limit the potential of volunteers and foreign residents.
