State employee health plans could have saved $7.1 billion nationwide by capping hospital payments at 200% of Medicare rates in 2022, a study led by researchers at the Brown University School of Public Health found.

Employing people with disabilities (PWD) in hotels not only enhances social responsibility but also significantly boosts customer intentions to recommend and revisit hotels, according to a new study from the University of Surrey. This pivotal study challenges long-standing misconceptions about hiring PWD in the hospitality industry and demonstrates that inclusivity can also benefit business outcomes. 

SAN ANTONIO —December 11, 2024 — Southwest Research Institute seeks support from residents or visitors of countries worldwide to assist with an international oil sampling program. Selected participants will be paid to purchase prequalified oil samples from retail stores and ship them to SwRI’s headquarters in San Antonio. Prequalification for the program will occur via an emailed photo exchange.

The study, ‘Language in job advertisements and the reproduction of labour force gender and racial segregation’, is published in PNAS Nexus – an official journal of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.

The findings provide a labour-market-wide audit of how gender/EDI language in job ads helps shape workforce gender/racial composition, as well as how labour force gender/racial composition influences gender/EDI language in job ads.
