New Tool to Prevent Antibiotic Misuse?

image: Respiratory infections are one of the most common reasons for seeking medical care. Researchers have developed a diagnostic tool that can accurately distinguish bacterial from viral infection, which promises to guide proper antibiotic use and combat antibiotic resistance. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 20, 2016, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS.
