Illustration of a fluctuation X-ray scattering experiment, which collects X-ray diffraction snapshots of multiple identical proteins in solution. An ultrabright X-ray laser provides fast snapshots which avoids motion blur, ultimately resulting in a detailed view of biological nanostructures.
