Changes in genomic composition of the hybrid population (IMAGE)
Caption
The upper panel shows triangle plots of the genomic composition of individuals collected from 2012 to 2020, with each point representing one individual. In 2012, many hybrids and individuals backcrossed to threespine stickleback were present. Thereafter, genomic regions derived from Japan Sea stickleback rapidly decreased, and after 10 generations, the population had become almost entirely threespine stickleback in genomic composition.
The middle panel schematically illustrates changes in the genomic composition of the hybrid population (Illustration: Chihiro Kinoshita).
The lower panel shows how to read the triangle plot.
