Tunning the criticality between high-Tc and reentrant superconductivity via rare-earth substitution covering other components. (IMAGE)
Caption
(a) Pr, Sm and Dy substitution preserves conventional superconductivity, while Gd substitution induces field reentrance. (b) Proposed exchange-field compensation involving the half-filled 4f7 moments of Gd3+ and Eu2+, together with transport to 35 T showing that the reentrant zero-resistance state is quenched again at higher field. (c) Angle-dependent resistance maps at 2, 3 and 5 K reveal strong uniaxial anisotropy and progressive thermal suppression of the reentrant window.
