DNA origami dye-cycling ORBIT rendering (IMAGE)
Caption
Salk scientists use DNA origami technique to build dye-cycling ORBIT, a method for tracking protein-DNA interactions for hours at single base-pair resolution. While the corkscrew stem (purple) attaches to a protein (light blue), the X-shaped handle (blue) and fluorescent dye probe (pink) amplify the movement of the underlying protein-DNA interaction.
