Catalytic enhancement mechanism of asymmetric U−O−Ti sites.

The OER catalytic enhancement mechanism of U−O−Ti bimetallic sites was revealed via in situ FTIR, DFT theoretical calculations, and electronic structure analysis. The unique 5f orbital hybridization effect of uranium can precisely regulate the electronic structure of TiO2, optimize the adsorption of intermediates, reduce the OER reaction energy barrier, and accelerate the reaction kinetics.
