Doctoral student Allie Gagne sets up test equipment in the in the Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing lab at the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion. The researchers use smoke droplets to visualize air currents, and they track the smoke motion by taking photos after shining it with a laser.
