精巧なトグロコウイカの殻は、人の爪先ほどの大きさ。他の頭足類とは異なり、この殻の構造は失われずに保たれてきた。本研究ではトランスクリプトミクス解析を実施し、殻の生物鉱化と再生を支える遺伝子を明らかにした。
