The current–torque waveforms obtained by the linear AM, nonlinear AM, FEM and experimental test are compared.

Nonlinear AM and FEM take magnetic saturation effect into account, and the waveforms obtained by these two methods are in close agreement, demonstrating the validity of the proposed nonlinear AM for torque calculation.
