"By using colored chemical tags, we have unmasked individual bacterial behavior by connecting their tag choices to specific survival strategies. Using this technique we have unveiled the secrets of bacterial persistence and resistance. What surprised us was that regardless of where we looked within the bacterial colony, each bacterium showed a unique growth pattern", says senior engineer Bhupender Singh.
