A new review published in EXO – Beyond the Cell (EXO) examines growing evidence that ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death, may spread between cells and travel through tissues in wave-like patterns.
A research team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, has introduced a downstream analytical framework for STAMP (Single-cell Transcriptomics Analysis and Multimodal Profiling), an emerging technology that preserves cell morphology alongside gene and protein expression. In a perspective published in EXO – Beyond the Cell, the team demonstrates how STAMP data can be analyzed using standard Python-based single-cell tools to link molecular profiles directly with image-derived phenotypes—such as cell area, shape, and marker localization.
An investigator at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has received international recognition for innovative imaging research that may help physicians identify patients at increased risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) before they undergo surgery for kidney tumors. Mira Liu, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow at the Mount Sinai BioMedical Engineering and Imaging Institute, received the prestigious W.S. Moore Award for Original Clinical Research at the 2026 International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine & International Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists Annual Meeting & Exhibition.
