Journalists may apply for press credentials for ACS Fall 2026. The meeting will be held in Chicago, IL, in addition to the ACS Fall 2026 Digital Meeting, on August 23-27. The meeting features about 10,000 presentations on a range of science topics, including:

  • Advanced materials and nanotechnology, including polymers, biomaterials, electronic materials, coatings, composites, nanomaterials, and atomically precise structures
  • Health and medicine, including drug discovery, cancer therapies, infectious diseases, diagnostics, biomaterials, toxicology, and drug delivery
  • Environmental chemistry and public health, including PFAS, microplastics, water quality, air pollution, wildfire emissions, pesticides, and emerging contaminants
  • Sustainability and the circular economy, including plastics recycling, renewable materials, waste valorization, greener manufacturing, carbon capture, and critical-mineral recovery
  • Energy production and storage, including batteries, supercapacitors, hydrogen, fuel cells, solar-energy materials, electrochemistry, and sustainable fuels
  • Artificial intelligence, automation and computational chemistry, including machine learning, large language models, molecular simulation, chemical data management, and automated experimentation
  • Chemical synthesis and catalysis, including organic synthesis, asymmetric reactions, biocatalysis, photocatalysis, electrosynthesis, and industrial catalytic processes
  • Analytical technologies, sensors and imaging, including spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, separations, microscopy, wearable sensors, and real-time chemical detection
  • Food, agriculture and renewable resources, including food chemistry, crop protection, agricultural contaminants, biomass conversion, and bio-based products
  • Fundamental chemical science, including molecular structure, chemical bonding, quantum phenomena, reaction mechanisms, interfaces, and ultrafast processes

Journalists may request press credentials via the ACS Fall 2026 press credentials request form. ACS considers requests for press credentials and complimentary meeting registration from reporters (staff and freelance) and public information officers at government, nonprofit, and educational institutions. ACS reserves the right to refuse press credentials for any reason.

Marketing and public relations professionals, lobbyists, scientists, journal managing editors, book-commissioning editors, acquisitions editors, publishers, or those who do not produce news for a publication or institution are not eligible for press credentials. These individuals may register through standard attendee registration on the ACS Fall 2026 website.
