曲形動物と苔虫動物の関係と進化系統樹における位置づけが、研究で明らかになりました。本研究により、これらがこれまで考えられていたよりも早い時期に軟体動物やミミズから分岐し、「ポリゾア」と呼ばれる別のグループに属することが明らかになりました。
