Recently, Chinese researchers first demonstrated the fabrication and operation of a NbN-SNSPD with system detection efficiency over 90% at 2.1 K at a wavelength of 1550 nm, which paves the way for practical application of SNSPD. The results were published in 2017(12) issue of SCIENCE CHINA Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy as a cover image story.
