Diabetes Drug Lowers Inflammation, Improves Glucose Control in HIVPatients

Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis found that the diabetes drug sitagliptin (brand name Januvia) improved glucose metabolism and reduced inflammation in HIV-positive adults on antiretroviral therapy, suggesting that the drug may lower risk of heart attacks and strokes.
