A Baby Neuron's First Steps (IMAGE) Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Caption Baby neurons -- neuroblasts -- migrate from their birthplace to positions in the olfactory bulb of adult mice thanks to two forces, one pulling from the front, the other pushing from behind. A single protein called DOCK7 helps to orchestrate these two steps. This still is from a video showing a neuroblast's migration. In the movie, one can see how the centrosome (yellow dot) advances, followed by the cell body (green oval), pushed from behind.
