Sharing contaminated needles is the most common reason people contract hepatitis C. A recent study led by Steve Davis, a researcher in the WVU School of Public Health, suggests fear of arrest is the primary reason that people who inject drugs don't always obtain clean needles or dispose of their used ones safely.
