Enzymes use the energy of ATP hydrolysis to pack nucleosomes against a barrier at the start of most genes. This image relates to an article that appeared in the May 20, 2011, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Zhenhai Zhang at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pa., and colleagues, was titled, "A Packing Mechanism for Nucleosome Organization Reconstituted Across a Eukaryotic Genome."
