This is a transgenic stickleback with pelvic rescue in our fish facility. Through transgenic restoration of Pitx1 function, this stickleback develops pelvic skeleton. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Dec. 10 issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The study, by Yingguang Frank Chan and colleagues was titled, "Adaptive Evolution of Pelvic Reduction in Sticklebacks by Recurrent Deletion of a Pitx1 Enhancer."
