Green pharmaceuticals begin with the chemical reaction. Light and ultrasound turn biomass into valuable molecules

Scientists have developed an innovative, eco-friendly method for synthesizing compounds that could aid in wound healing and the treatment of Alzheimer's disease or osteoporosis. The one-step synthesis is carried out using light and ultrasound. The catalyst employed in the reaction can be derived from compounds obtained from lignocellulosic waste.
