Schematic of the mode-circulating electro-optic comb: a single beam is recirculated eight times through the same modulation region as four waveguide modes (TE0–TE3), boosting the modulation index nearly eightfold and generating 128 comb lines over 25.6 nm on a lithium niobate chip.
