Macrophage and neutrophil responses to Rickettsia heilongjiangensis in mouse skin (IMAGE)
Caption
Image credit (Required): Schematic overview of macrophage and neutrophil gene expression patterns following intradermal Rickettsia heilongjiangensis infection. The study compared wild-type (WT) mice, mice lacking the type I interferon receptor (Ifnar1−/−), and mice lacking both type I and type II interferon receptors (Ifnar1−/−;Ifngr1−/−). Macrophages showed different transcriptional patterns across the mouse models, while neutrophils exhibited oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS)-related signatures in all three groups. GFP-positive and GFP-negative labels denote fluorescence-based cell populations following click chemistry-based bacterial labeling.
