Sketch of a local region (IMAGE)
Caption
Sketch of a local region 𝒰⊂ℳ, faintly shaded in gray, endowed with a local Rindler horizon, consisting of the null hypersurfaces ℋ𝐴 and ℋ𝐵 intersecting at the horizon cross section 𝒮. Within 𝒰, ℋ𝐴 is affinely parametrized by 𝑉, and likewise ℋ𝐵 by 𝑈, yielding a local double null coordinate system. Consequently, the region 𝒰 is separated into two wedge-shaped regions, correspondingly decomposing ℋ𝐴, ℋ𝐵 into ℋℛ𝐴,ℋℒ𝐴 and ℋℒ𝐵,ℋℛ𝐵, respectively. The orange curve indicates the flow generated by the local approximate boost Killing vector field 𝜉𝑎, which becomes null on ℋ𝐴 and ℋ𝐵.
