A dual-constraint spatial planning framework for proactive blue carbon conservation in China. Conceptual framework integrating ecosystem suitability and anthropogenic pressure to guide proactive conservation of mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses along China’s coast. The dual-constraint approach couples MaxEnt habitat modeling with systematic conservation planning (Marxan) to identify priority areas and propose four spatially differentiated management strategies (priority restoration and expansion, restoration and edge protection, partial degradation and restoration, and complete degradation). It highlights the need to safeguard future suitable habitats under climate change and increasing human pressures.
