Colors viewed by older observer (IMAGE)
Caption
Researchers developed a new computational model that accounts for how the eye changes with age. It can help guide the design of white-light spectra to support color discrimination in older adults while retaining conventional white-light and color-rendering criteria. The illustrated colors are conceptual and are not a calibrated simulation of an older person's vision. D50 is a standardized daylight reference with a color temperature of about 5000 K, commonly used for evaluating how colors appear under daylight-like illumination.
