Genetically modified yeast colony (IMAGE)
Caption
The image depicts a genetically modified yeast colony. The colony was grown from a single blue-fluorescent cell and was able to gather synthetic yellow mutations during initial growth. Subsequently, an attempt was made to halt the growth of the population by increasing the temperature, against which, the yellow fluorescent cells are resistant, thereby causing what we call “treatment failure”.
