Global distribution, genomic diversity and ecological activity of Aoguangviridae

A global meta-omic survey expanded the non-redundant genomic catalogue of Aoguangviridae from 59 to 227 genomes and revealed extensive taxonomic diversity, broad oceanic distribution and transcriptional activity. The family comprises viruses associated with Poseidoniales, abundant marine archaea involved in oceanic organic-matter processing.
