Subangstrom regulation of the Fe-N bond in structurally uniform Fe1-N4 single-atom sites significantly enhances C-H bond oxidation. Compressing the Fe-N distance from 2.03 to 1.93 Å promotes electron accumulation at the Fe center and strengthens peroxide activation, resulting in a nearly 23-fold increase in catalytic activity and establishing a direct correlation between bond distance, electronic structure and catalytic performance.
