Protein corona dynamics across the blood-brain barrier (IMAGE)
Caption
Blood-exposed nanocarriers acquire a protein corona that changes during receptor binding, endothelial uptake, intracellular sorting and release on the brain side. These stage-specific changes may determine whether nanomedicines are cleared, degraded, recycled or productively transported across the blood-brain barrier.
