A clinician performs an ultrasound scan that assesses heart and muscle quality simultaneously to detect early changes at the tissue level, even before muscle loss occurs. Named MOSAIC (Multiparametric Heart-Muscle Imaging), this new approach is being introduced under the National Heart Centre Singapore's CRANE (Cardiovascular Ageing and Longevity) Programme.
