Through optimizing the CdS shell thickness to balance triplet exciton transfer efficiency and triplet lifetime of Th-DPP ligand, a record upconversion efficiency of 3.9% was achieved at 1064 nm excitation. This efficient QD-based photon upconversion enabled unprecedented beyond 1000 nm low-energy sunlight-driven large-volume photocatalysis.
