From fiber to interaction: the fabric topological haptic proxy (FTHP) for VR (IMAGE)
Caption
Concept schematic of the fabric topological haptic proxy (FTHP). Triboelectric sensing yarns are integrated into topology-guided textile units and assembled into a reconfigurable fabric that supports three interaction modes—flat touch input, transforming input during folding, and folded 3D input. By switching between these states, a single piece of cloth can serve as multiple VR controllers for diverse interactive tasks, including use in space- and resource-constrained training scenarios.
