Comparison between the constraints from ACT (blue), DESI BAO (grey), and ACT+DESI (red) for the BAO parameters and the spectral index ns. The pink band represents the ns values for the preferred inflation models after Planck. We can see a shift in the preferred parameter values between ACT and DESI or ACT+DESI, illustrating the BAO–CMB tension, with a consequent shift in ns away from the pink band.
