New method produces quantum dots that offer advantages for light-based technologies

The molecular beam epitaxy system is used to grow single-photon emitters. Located in the Department of Semiconductors at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, it was used by Brazilian researcher Saimon F. Covre da Silva while he was heading the laboratory. Now, with funding from FAPESP, Silva is acquiring similar equipment, the first of its kind in Brazil
