This image shows a section of sinus tissue with mast cells accumulating in the center (purple). A new study from UC San Diego has found that Veterans with chronic rhinosinusitis from airborne toxins accumulate more of these cells than others with the disease, suggesting the existence of a new biological subtype of this common disease.
