Comparing the total cost of ownership of used vehicle types

This graph shows the total cost of ownership for different used vehicles that are 3 years old at the time of purchase and driven until their 10th year. Used battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have the lowest total cost of ownership when compared with internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) for every body style, according to new research from the University of Michigan.
