Activated CD8+ T cells predict acute graft versus host disease (IMAGE)
Caption
Flow cytometry plots and longitudinal curves show that when the proportion of CD38+HLA‑DR+CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood exceeds 36.6% within the first month after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, patients are at high risk of developing acute graft‑versus‑host disease. This activated CD8+ T‑cell subset can also be tracked over time to reflect treatment responses.
