“Super-Probiotic” LGG Created Through RE (IMAGE)
Caption
Ribosomal engineering (RE) induces spontaneous mutations in ribosomal proteins, thereby altering protein expression and potentially enhancing useful characteristics. Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) with a K56N mutation in the ribosomal S12 protein exhibits high GAPDH expression on the surface. These strains show enhanced adhesion to intestinal cells and induce immune responses, making them “super-probiotics.”
