Visualizing storm surges in a warmer world (IMAGE)

The digital maps created by researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology can allow you to zoom in on coastal areas to see where companies and enterprises are located, how much value they generate, and how many employees they have. Here we see a section of Tromsø Harbor—today and in the year 2100, when surface temperatures have risen by 3 to 5 degrees. The pink dots represent businesses, while the red ones indicate those exposed to a 20-year flood, a relatively common event. A link to the digital maps can be found above in the article.
